EMDR Therapy & Attachment Trauma Focus for Adults (AFTT-A)
A virtual Zoom Training broken into 2 Parts, 2 days each (26CEs).
Part 1 - EMDR & Attachment-Focused Therapy for Adults: Reconstruction of Internal Personality Parts & AttachmentsPart 1 is a 2-day training that teaches participants the skills and strategies for incorporating EMDR therapy into internal restructuring and creation of safety and attachment for parts of self, creating an effective resource team, and strengthening of the competent adult self. Participants will develop strategies and be offered practice opportunities for effective creation of safe places and higher powers for Adult and Child parts of Self; internal resource teamwork, time orientation, negotiation within and between clients’ inner personality parts and structure, creation of new inner attachment experiences, and resourcing the competent Adult part of Self.
Part 2 - EMDR & Attachment-Focused Therapy for Adults: Transitioning & Integrating into EMDR Phases 3-8
Part 2 is a 2-day training that teaches participants strategies that assist clients in effectively transitioning from AFTT-A protocols that focus on and deepen positive affect to protocols that introduce and titrate experiences of negative affect through the creation of a new bonding contract and therapeutic story. Participants will acquire skills and be offered opportunities to practice assisting clients to utilize reconstructed parts and attachments within their internal personality system and integrate newly acquired adaptive information in order to successfully move into and complete EMDR Phases 3-8. The training instructs participants to implement EMDR therapy Standard Protocol more safely with complex clients through “contained reprocessing” and inverted protocols as well as utilizing cognitive interweaves to access internal support of the restructured personality system.

Join us for a fun and playful two days and discover the EMDR Integrative Attachment Trauma Protocol for Children (IATP-C). The model is designed for kids and teens with tough histories and all the problems that go along with that – the social and emotional delays, the challenging behaviors, the mistrust, the avoidance. Kids removed from their bio homes benefit but also kids in bio homes impacted by generational trauma, early medical trauma, separations, parent mental illness, or parent substance abuse.
You’ll develop skills for applying Stage 1) parent psychoeducation and case conceptualization; Stage 2) EMDR and family therapy activities with kids and parents to build trust, calm dysregulation, and build good feelings; and Stage 3) EMDR modifications for gentle processing of triggers and traumas with complex kids, as well as making sense of the most difficult histories through therapeutic stories.

Building Trigger Tolerance With EMDR: Regulating Reactivity in Children and Adolescents
Kids who are reactive and intolerant are not ready for EMDR addressing the past. This workshop will demonstrate that by processing with a focus on expanding tolerance for distress rather than eliminating it, we can build resilience, etc.
